Our Coaching Staff
Tony ClaarThis is Tony’s first year coaching for Ohio State. His previous coaching experience includes four years of high school coaching for Olentangy Braves High School. He led his team to three straight state finals between the years 2020-2022. The teams best finish was 10th in state. Tony is a USBC Silver certified coach. He has a personal high game of 300, high series of 847, and high average of 238. Tony has been married for 22 years. He has four children and one step-child. His two youngest children attend Ohio State, and his daughter, Savannah, is on the women’s team. Tony works in sales. He also has a 2.5 year old female Husky named London who he takes on many walks each day. His hobbies include bowling and golfing.

Kaitlyn MorrisonThis is Kaitlyn’s first year coaching for Ohio State. She graduated from Saint Vincent College in the spring of 2023. There, she was on the bowling team. She has previous coaching experience from when she assisted for Big Walnut High School. Kaitlyn is a USBC Bronze certified coach. Her high game is a 279. She currently works at KIPP charter school, where she is a middle school teacher. She has one dog named Juno. Her hobbies include photography, hiking, and reading.

Scott MorrisonThis is Scott’s second year coaching for Ohio State Bowling Team. In the past, he has coached both the boy’s and girl’s teams for Big Walnut high school. He led the girl’s team to the state championship twice. The girl’s team also won districts and became the Central Ohio Team of the Year in 2019. Last year, the girl’s team broke all school records. Scott is a USBC Silver Certified Coach. Scott has been married to his wife, Carolyn, for 29 years. They have one child, Kaitlyn, who is a part of the women’s coaching staff. Scott has a husky mix named Juno. His personal bowling success includes scoring a perfect 300 game and having a high series of 765. Scott’s other interests are watching baseball games. He has a goal of watching a baseball game in every stadium!

Chad RotruckThis is Chad’s third year coaching for Ohio State. He has over 30 years of competitive bowling experience. Chad also competed with the club for two years. Currently, he is a USBC Bronze Level Coach. Chad is apart of the registered volunteer program. His league average last registered at 211. He has been married to his wife, Jennifer, for 6 years. Together, they have 6 children and 8 grandchildren spread across the country. Chad has two cats named Vaska and Luna. In his free time, he likes traveling and camping. Chad also enjoys watching baseball and football.
